Amenities

All of our spaces are equipped with everything you need from linens to plates and utensils in our fully equipped kitchens so you are sure to feel comfortable. Take advantage of all the picturesque views from our pools or take a long stroll to explore the countryside & farmlands on our expansive property.

Agriculture

Part of our property includes an agriturismo where we offer breakfast as well as a comfortable place to stay. We are committed to preparing food we either produce on our property or purchase locally, a requirement to qualify as an “agriturismo”.  On our property we have extensive olive groves and vineyard. We intend to expand our agricultural operations more each year.

Olive oil

We have over 1000 olive trees on our properties which we harvest and press to create our own olive oil that we sell on the property. Our oil is 100% organic, hand picked and pressed within 24 hours of harvesting in the Fall. Our olives produce a distinct and delicious spiciness that comes from the beneficial “polyphenols”, powerful cancer fighting compounds.

Garden

wine

Picked and pressed in early Fall, our SanGiovese grapes are local to our area. Currently we cooperate with local vintners who purchase our grapes to produce a Rosso Toscano of high quality. We plan to produce a Rosso d’Orcia di Montalcino of our own in 2021-22.

We currently have a kitchen garden and have plans to enlarge it in 2021-22. Our goal in the future is to offer the produce at the Le Coppiole agriturismo and to any guests staying elsewhere on the estate to cook & enjoy in their kitchens.

Nature Excursions

Guests can enjoy countless picturesque walks along cypress-lined dirt roads with views of the wheat fields, vineyards, and olive groves. We also offer maps for self guided hikes up one of the tallest hills in the area that provide unparalleled panoramic views of southern Tuscany, from Siena to Radicofani at the Lazio border.

There is something for everyone in the area. If you are in the mood for an adventure, there are many places to go horseback riding, hot air ballooning, and mountain biking.  There are also natural thermal baths nearby that are open year-round, another great way to relax and unplug.

What's Nearby

The Ville Ferrano estate is a little more than one kilometer away from the small town of San Giovanni d’Asso within the township of Montalcino of Brunello wine fame. It is located in the province of the medieval city of Siena 25 miles away to the northwest. From the property, one can see the town of Pienza, known for its Renaissance "Ideal City" town square and Pecorino cheese. The nearby towns are the perfect place to sample the Tuscany cuisine, featuring superb wine bars & restaurants, some of them the finest in Italy.  Besides the culinary treats, many local towns offer Tuscan specialties such as linens, jewelry, and leather goods. There is a weekly local produce market in our small town as well as the famed Arezzo antiques market on the first weekend of every month.

Ville Ferrano is conveniently located for travel. Florence airport is the closest at 1½ hours away by car. For direct flights from the US and other countries, the Pisa and Rome airports are best and are equidistant at approx. 2.5 hours.
